# Privacy and on-device AI

Reps is built around Apple Watch and iPhone data that's already sensitive — HRV, sleep, and training history — so how that data is handled matters as much as what the app does with it.

## On-device where supported

Your Readiness Score is calculated on your iPhone. Where your iPhone supports it, parts of Rex's coaching can also run on-device instead of sending that request to a server. This is a genuine on-device path, not a marketing label — but it is not the only path Rex uses.

## What isn't on-device

Rex also uses Google Gemini through Reps' cloud service. For a cloud answer, the question, recent chat, and relevant health information are sent to Google. Other cloud features send only what they need, such as a meal or gym-machine photo, today's nutrition totals, or a workout set and heart rate.

Reps does not save Rex chat text, uploaded photos, or full health prompts in its app database. Some cloud features save their result and the minimum details needed to show it again. Health Island, for example, keeps the generated island with its date and score details, but not the full request sent to Google. Account-linked operational state includes a daily request count for access and abuse prevention, a recent health-report time used to choose the processing tier, and meal-analysis progress status. Reps also keeps anonymous daily totals for reliability and cost monitoring. Google may retain cloud requests under its safety and abuse-monitoring terms. That is why Reps does not promise that every AI request stays on the phone or is immediately deleted.

## No account required to start

You can start using Reps' core readiness and training features without creating an account.

## Why this matters for a recovery app specifically

HRV, sleep, and training history are sensitive. Keeping Readiness and supported coaching on-device reduces how often that information needs cloud processing. When Rex does use the cloud, Reps explains the boundary instead of hiding it behind an absolute privacy claim.

## Health data and analytics

Reps does not put your health values — HRV, sleep, heart rate, and similar — into advertising or analytics profiles, and does not sell them. Your health information is used to run the features you request. Some of those features use Google for cloud processing as described above; that processing is not an advertising use or a sale of your data.

## Full transparency on the score

Reps shows exactly what the Readiness Score is built from — every contributing signal, weighted and displayed — rather than presenting a number with no visible reasoning behind it.
